Loopie — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
Loopie is a djembe & dundun rhythm player and community. This policy explains what the app stores and why. Loopie contains no advertising and no third-party tracking or analytics. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app.
No account required
Loopie does not require you to create an account. When you open the app you are signed in anonymously so you can browse, play, and save rhythms. You may optionally sign in with Google to attach a display name and photo to rhythms you publish; this is entirely your choice.
What we store
- Rhythms you create or publish — the pattern data, name, and description. Published rhythms are public to other users.
- Display name and (if you sign in with Google) profile photo URL — shown as the author of rhythms you publish.
- Stars and comments you add to rhythms.
- An anonymous visitor identifier and edit tokens — random values kept on your device (in local storage) so you can edit rhythms you created without an account. These are not linked to your real-world identity.
Loopie does not collect your location, contacts, microphone input, or device advertising identifiers. Audio is generated on your device; nothing you play is recorded or uploaded.
How data is processed
App data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) acting as our data processor. If you choose Google Sign-In, Google processes your sign-in in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Data retention & your choices
- You can delete rhythms you created from within the app.
- You can sign out at any time; the app returns to an anonymous session.
- To request deletion of published content or an associated display name, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children
Loopie is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
